I GREW UP USING the Joe Sakic curve, ever since I was a kid, so I’ve always gone back to that even when they stopped making it. I don’t really experiment with it. I’ve used the same profile since I was probably 13 years old and I’ve liked it, so I didn’t see any reason to change.
I use a 95 flex now, and that’s been the one thing I have changed. I used to use 100 and then I tried 90 for a while before settling on something in the middle. I like a stiffer stick just for handling the puck better.
I don’t change my sticks too often, but it kind of depends on how I’m playing. If I get comfortable with a stick and I’m having good results with it, I’ll stay with it until it breaks. I’m a bit superstitious with my sticks. I was on a bit of a point streak earlier this season (11 games) and I think I used the same stick the whole time. – WITH EDWARD FRASER
