In the CARDS

-

“CORSI” IS A STAT that measures shot differential between teams during even-strength play. It was named after – and devised, in part – by former Edmonton Oilers goalie Jim Corsi. Although his name is synonymous today with hockey’s most popular “fancy stat,” Corsi didn’t have any cards issued during his short NHL and WHA career. Nearly a decade after his last NHL game, he finally got a card in the Oilers’ 10th Anniversary Collection. The 164-card set was found in four-card panels inside game programs during the 1988-89 season and included every Oilers player to date. – SAL BARRY OF PUCKJUNK.COM
