Re­mem­brance Day Pa­rade. Coun­cil has ap­proved the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion’s re­quest to hold a Re­mem­brance Day pa­rade on Novem­ber 11. The pa­rade will start at 10 a.m. and go from the Town park­ing lot be­hind the Le­gion, down 50th Street to 4th Av­enue, west on 4th Av­enue to 51st Street, North on 51st Street­past the ceno­taph and into the Le­gion park­ing lot.

ATCO Fran­chise Fee. Coun­cil has agreed, un­der the cur­rent fran­chise fee agree­ment with ATCO, to keep the rates at the cur­rent 20 per cent. The fran­chise fee is col­lected from cus­tomers in the com­mu­nity based on aper­cent­age of ATCO’s de­liv­ery tar­iff. The per­cent­age has not changed since the fran­chise fee agree­ment was re­newed in 2006, and should bring in about $475,000 in rev­enue for the Town

in 2016.

For­tisAl­berta Fran­chise Fee. Coun­cil has agreed, un­der the cur­rent fran­chise fee agree­ment with For­tisAl­berta, to keep the rates at the cur­rent 5 per cent. Based on the cur­rent rate it should bring in about $375,000 in rev­enue for the Town in 2016.

Sub­di­vi­sion Ex­ten­sion. Coun­cil has granted an ex­ten­sion to a sub­di­vi­sion ap­pli­ca­tion at 472 72nd Street for an ad­di­tional year. The ap­pli­ca­tion will now ex­pire Oc­to­ber 15, 2016.

Coun­cil has also granted an ex­ten­sion to a sub­di­vi­sion ap­pli­ca­tion at 795 Glen­wood Drive for an ad­di­tional year. The ap­pli­ca­tion will now ex­pire De­cem­ber 17, 2016.

De­vel­op­ment Ap­pli­ca­tion. Coun­cil has ap­proved a de­vel­op­ment ap­pli­ca­tion for a lot on the north edge of Hil­len­dale Phase II. This de­vel­op­ment is a planned du­plex with unique roof lines and a “drive down” garage. The ap­pli­ca­tion was ap­proved sub­ject to con­di­tions out­lined by the De­vel­op­ment Of­fi­cer.

The next Coun­cil Meet­ing is sched­uled for Oc­to­ber 27th at 1:30 p.m. in the Coun­cil Cham­bers of the Ed­son Civic Build­ing.
