Notice of sadness to Lac Ste Anne residents

-

Dear Editor,

It is with great sadness that I am forced to report that once again our Council and Administration has seen fit to introduce another borrowing bylaw. If we had a council that would work together, we would have no need to for any of this. How much more can we as ratepayers be expected to swallow?

There is an additional bill coming out in September that is user fees for our landfills. Everything we do will soon become user fees whether you “use it” or not as they spend money we don’t have and with grants dwindling, will never have. Some folks did write to their local council and request that a by election be held for Division 5, the answer is no. They don’t feel a need. Of course they don’t! If they did then there would be someone that would oppose them!

Lorne Olsvik (Division 1) did vote in favour of this bylaw. He was the ONLY one who voted with the people requesting a by election. We know that folks are as tired of petitions as we are so tell us what you would like us to do? Will you sign once again to stop another million dollars of debt? They should have never purchased the antiquated building.

If the Lac Ste Anne Gas Coop saw a need to replace, then why did we buy the left overs? Once again, we had land we could have built if we needed a garage to house fire trucks and public works buildings. I think they are doing exactly as we said they would. The spending will not stop. In my opinion this Council and Administration is not acting in the best interest of the Ratepayers of this County.

The bylaw:

454-16 Bylaw #29-2016

Anne East Station, be given 1st reading and further that the Bylaw be advertised as per the Municipal Government Act.
