Yellowhead County Trails Master Plan Survey

-

Yellowhead County is preparing a Trail Master Plan and we want to hear from you!

The Yellowhead County Trails Master Plan will set the long-term vision for trails in Yellowhead County and provide direction on the investment in trail infrastructure and management of trails for the next 10 years.

The Trails Master Plan will include an extensive public consultation process that engages a broad spectrum of the community and offers a variety of engagement opportunities including an online survey. Throughout the summer Yellowhead County will be hosting a variety of roving kiosks at special events, as well as public open houses to provide additional outlets for feedback through this survey. McElhanney Consulting Services Limited (MCSL) has been retained to lead this planning process.

“The online survey is one of our first initiatives to gather resident feedback on the future of our trail systems,” explains Parks & Recreation Supervisor Crystal McNernie.

The purpose of the survey is to understand:

• Current trail use in the County,

• What is working & what is not working with the current trail network,

• Supply, maintenance and management issues with the current trail network, and,

• Priorities to improve the trail networks and visitor experience.

“We’re very excited about the future of trails within our County and can’t wait to hear how we can improve and develop trail networks within our hamlets,” says McNernie.
