The Board of Living Waters Catholic Schools, welcomes two new trustees to the table. Edson Trustee, Tammy Kennedy and Slave Lake Trustee, Florence Gladue join returning trustees from Whitecourt, Dana Kentner and Irene Sawyer, Slave Lake Trustee, Darrell Ghostkeeper and Edson Trustee, Gemma Christie. The new Board looks forward to serving the students, staff and communities that comprise our Division in their role as Trustees for Living Waters Catholic Schools.
Associate Superintendent of Learning, Courtney Lawrance, provided the Board of Living Waters with a thorough Summary of Achievement of the Division based on the results of the Provincial Achievement Tests and Diploma Exams. The Board approved News Releases, which will go to the media and be put on our website. The achievement and success of our students are very important and the data that has been collected and analyzed will be used to inform Living Waters’Three Year Education Plan and Annual Education Results Report.
The Living Waters Board of Trustees reviewed new Admin Procedures developed around Athletics and Concussion Procedures. The safety and care of Living Waters students who are engaged in Athletics and who may be at risk of experiencing a concussion is taken very seriously, therefore, an Admin Procedure has been developed to address proper procedures in the event that someone has suffered a concussion. The Board of Living Waters sets the vision and mission for the Division through its’ Blueprint 4.0 and its 20/20 Vision for Learning documents. Living Waters Blueprint 4.0 provides the road map for transforming education across the Division, while the 20/20 Vision for Learning document describes what learning will look like in 2020. These two foundational documents identify the priorities and areas for improvement that will allow the division to achieve its goal that every child who enters our doors will graduate successfully from a faith-filled, safe and caring environment prepared for future success.
The Classroom Improvement Committee, which is comprised of two trustees, two system leaders and four members of the ATA Woodland Rivers Local met on several occasions to approve proposals that are being submitted from across the division. The Classroom Improvement Fund of $336,000.00 is being used to support initiatives and proposals that will improve classroom experiences for students and staff.
