Holy Redeemer prepares winter wonderland

-

On December 15 and 16, Holy Redeemer High will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland courtesy of the Industrial Arts Department.

“The students were looking for a way to raise money for a 3D printer,” says IA Teacher Mike Bachinsky. “So they came up with the idea to present a special winter wonderland for the community.”

At this special event, the students will be selling special wooden toys they have been making for the past few weeks. “These toys are the kind of thing your great-grandparents would have received for Christmas,” says Bachinsky. “We wanted to give a feeling of an old-fashioned Christmas.”

To complete this special vision, there will be a number of special activities for the community to take part in. There will be horse drawn sleighs around the football field, Christmas tree sales, a holiday themed mini-drama production, hot chocolate, and of course, there will be a special visitor on hand – Santa!

To prepare for this event, the IA class has basically transformed itself into Santa’s workshop with the students acting as the Elves to prepare for the special toys and games for the very lucky girls and boys that will be attending.

The event is scheduled for Friday, December 15 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, December 16from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Everyone is welcome to attend. There is no entry fee and all the events will be free of charge. Donations will be accepted and all the proceeds will go towards the purchase of a 3D Printer. The fundraising goal is $2000.
