We are not a fluffy bunny.

Welcome to 2018. Last year had its ups and down, sad times and glad times. Some people will be relieved the year is over, some people will be regretting the year being over and sadly some people will never see another.

Our community is terrific, caring, sharing and ready to help. There are some however, that are not in those categories, some of the time and on occasion, none of the time. There is crime, drugs, sadness and badness. But all of that is the nature of human kind and we will report and comment on all that we can.

We encourage you to write in with your news, your opinions and please do send pictures, as we cannot hope to be everywhere.

Newspapers have had to change, and we have. No paper for one. The only regret we have about going digital is not doing it sooner. We now publish weekly and publish breaking news daily on our Facebook page.

We have no political or editorial affiliations of any kind. We will always call it as we see it and we will always report on the government and municipalities of the day, whatever some readers may think of them. Sometimes you may agree, sometimes you may not. We fervently hope that all of the time, we have made you think, maybe to find out more, maybe to ask questions.

Whatever the issue of the day is it’s unlikely that anyone or any group will be one hundred per cent right on it. Other people will have a different take and something to contribute.

We will ask questions ourselves. Sometimes they’ll be awkward. There are no fluffy bunnies here. Welcome to 2018.
