Parkland’s Pacer pride explodes with a gold for our Senior Boys
This past weekend the Parkland Composite High School Sr boys’ basketball team played at the HRH Tombstone tournament after a long 5 week break.
Our first game was against Barrhead with a 73-42 win. Next we played the HRH JV team and the PCHS boys came out on top once again.
That moved us into the final to come up against the HRH Sr boys who are ranked 6th in the province, and wow what a game! PCHS was up 14 at the half and 14 after the third but the fourth quarter was a hard fought battle to the end for both teams. It was a game for the books as these two teams played amazing with the Parkland Pacers coming out on top for the gold, 78-76.
We now sit with an 11-3 record. Parkland is so proud of the senior boys, great job guys.
This past weekend the senior boys team travelled to Ardrosson for a great weekend or basketball.
Our first game was up against the big team from Salsbiury high in the city and our boys fought hard to get the win in a low score defensive game of 59-50 which sent us to the early sat morning game.
We came up against St Paul in that game who is a fast pace team good shooting team. In a back a forth game The pacers lead most the game and where up by 3 with seconds remaining and St. Paul threw up a shot from the arch to tie the game which sent us to OT. Unfortunately we didn’t come out on top in a 74-67 game.
That moved us to the bronze medal game against the Austin O Brien team from the city who we played last year and sealed the deal but this year they came out on top in a great game played by both teams. Over all it was a great weekend of basketball for the pacer boys and we now have a record of 12 wins and 5 losses.
