April 3 meeting

Council Code of Conduct. Council gave second and third reading to %ylaw 1 , Council Code of Conduct. In accordance with new reTuiremen­ts of the 0unicipal *overnment Act, a Code of Conduct %ylaw was reTuired to be passed by -uly , 01 . 7he bylaw governs conduct for Council, including

items such as respectful workplace, discrimina­tion, acceptance of gifts, and more. It also outlines procedures in the event of a breach of the bylaw.

%ench Creek Stabili]ation. %ank sloughing at %ench Creek near the 5C0P building has been a persisting problem and must be dealt with to protect the building. 7he tender process only brought in one bid and Council has directed administra­tion to re-tender the proMect. It’s hoped adMusting the schedule of the proMect can help bring in more competitiv­e bids. :ork is expected to commence on the bank stabili]ation this summer.

5eservoir 5epairs. 5epairs are expected to commence soon on the reservoir that was damaged this winter during a large-scale water break at a time of frigid temperatur­es. Administra­tion has presented Council with informatio­n on the repairs reTuired and have also confirmed that the repairs will be covered by the 7own’s insurance. 7he repairs are expected to take -10 weeks which should limit concerns about water supplies as consumptio­n increases during the summer months.

0ulti-8se )acility. Council has approved the entering of a 0emorandum of 8nderstand­ing 028

with <ellowhead County regarding the constructi­on and operation of a new multi-use facility in (dson. 0ore details will be available soon at www.edson.ca.
