HRH prepares annual Art Show

-

The Holy Redeemer Art Department is busily preparing for the upcoming Annual Art Show. As always, the show promises to be an impressive showcase of student talent.

This year’s offerings will include drawings, paintings, printmaking, hand painted tiles and copper tooling. There will also be some outstanding photography and woodwork. Live music will be on hand courtesy of the HRH Music Department.

The show is always a huge hit for the community. It will be visited by school groups, seniors’ groups and the general public. Students always bring their family and friends to share in the excitement of having their work on display.

Sandy Fedorak, Holy Redeemer’s Art Teacher says, “It is very important that this student work be showcased. Hundreds of hours of hard work have gone into these creations. Students are proud of their work, and rightfully so.” Fedorak also says that for many students, art is their favourite outlet and their place to shine.

The scope of the show has grown immensely over the years. “I teach all the Art from grade 7 to 12,” says Fedorak. “It has been so fulfilling to watch the Art Program grow.” Fedorak also says that it is always amazing to watch the students inspire and encourage each other to push themselves to grow as artists through their years at HRH.

The Annual Art Show will take place on Thursday, April 12 in the school’s front foyer from 6 to 8 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
