May 8 meeting Motor Grader Replacement

– Three Yellowhead County motor grader units are due to be replaced in 2018. A request for proposal found that Finning’s Cat 160M Motor Graders match county specifications. Council approved the purchase of three new Cat 160M Motor Graders, at a cost of $746,000.00 (cost includes trade-in value of the three retiring graders). Niton Community Society Capital Assistance Grant – Council approved a capital grant request from the Niton Community Society in the amount of $14,529.00 for the purchase of new vinyl plank flooring as well as bathroom renovations for their community hall. These projects will bring both the floor and washrooms up to code.

Bylaw 10.18 First Reading, Rezoning – Council gave first reading to Bylaw 10.18 amending Land Use Bylaw 16.13 for Lot 1, Plan 972-3697 (NE 23-54-10-W5M) from Rural District (RD) to Recreational Use District (RU). The developer, Callioux Enterprises Ltd., wishes to develop equestrian/camping facilities on the property. A Public Hearing will be held on June 26, 2018.

Bylaw 12.18 First Reading, Rezoning – Council gave first reading to Bylaw 12.18 amending Land Use Bylaw 16.13 for Plan 022 4386, Block 1, Lot 2, Part of SW 36-53-17W5M from RD - Rural District to CR - Country Residential. The landowners seek to create two additional residential parcels. A Public Hearing will be held on June 26, 2018.

Request to Offer for Sale – Council directed administration to advertise for sale by Request for Proposals, Lots 1 & 2, Block 1, Plan 012-5720 (Hamlet of Robb) with a reserved bid of $65,000.00 for Lot 1 and $65,600.00 for Lot 2 (based on appraised value).
