Affordable homes in White court
Agriculture and Forestry Minister Oneil Carlier, on behalf of Seniors and Housing Minister Lori Sigurdson, announced a $3.8 million capital investment in affordable housing in Whitecourt. The new facility will be mixed market, including a variety of transitional shelter, affordable housing, and near-market housing. This will help residents transition from temporary to more stable housing.
New affordable housing in Whitecourt will provide forty-two new homes for everyday Albertans and lower income families.
Agriculture and Forestry Minister Oneil Carlier, on behalf of Seniors and Housing Minister Lori Sigurdson, announced a $3.8 million capital investment in affordable housing in Whitecourt. The new facility will be mixed market, including a variety of transitional shelter, affordable housing, and near-market housing. This will help residents transition from temporary to more stable housing.
The building will feature barrier-free living options and be constructed to a net-zero level of efficiency, which will help reduce utility costs.
Though in the early planning stages, the facility is expected to include studio, one- and two- bedroom apartments. The next phase of this project will include a request for design and construction services.

• This investment is part of the Government’s $1.2 billion commitment toward affordable and seniors housing. • Wellspring Family Resource and Crisis Centre will operate the building in collaboration with the Lac Ste. Anne Foundation.
