Wildwood Public Library to host outdoor market and world champion hoop dancer
Wildwood Public Library will be the site of an outdoor market on September 8. Featuring over a dozen local vendors, residents of Wildwood and area will have the opportunity to shop for various goods created by fellow community members. Leather works, stained glass creations, pottery, fresh produce and jewelry are only a few examples of products that will be on sale. The outdoor market will also feature a special performance by three-time world champion hoop dancer, Dallas Arcand
Jr. Hailing from Alexander (Kipohtakaw) Plains Cree Nation, Arcand Jr. gained international acclaim after performing at the opening ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Winning the World Championship Hoop Dance contest in 2006, 2007 and 2012, Arcand Jr. now travels to perform and facilitate workshops for people of all ages. The market will run from 10a.m. until 3 p.m. Dallas Arcand Jr. is scheduled to perform at 1p.m. Weather permitting, the event will take place in the Wildwood Public Library parking lot.
