IDRF Fundraises for water project Gaza

IDRF was pleased to host its very first Iftaar 4 Gaza on Friday June 16,. Led by Iayisha Khan a member of the Muslim community in Vancouver, the event was attended by many first time supporters of IDRF. Speaker Ahmed Shehab spoke about the importance of giving, not just in Ramadan, but also in particular in the last 10 days of Ramadan. Director of Fund Development at IDRF, Farheen Khan who was also present, visiting from Toronto, spoke about the importance of giving to the water project in Gaza and the amount of water scarcity that exists within the region. 1.8 Milllion people live in south eastern Gaza and only less than 6.5% of wells are clean and accessible for this community. IDRF is on the ground supporting thousands of school going children in Gaza gain access to clean drinking water within their schools. The group raised 15,000 which will support 3000 children gain access to clean water for 1 year. Those interested in supporting the project can still do so by going to IDRF.com.
