No longer a threat
GOVERNMENT has officially confirmed earlier this evening that Severe Tropical Cyclone Keni is no longer a threat to Fiji despite it being still a catergory three system. A statement from the governments information arm said TC Keni “moved out of Fiji Waters early this morning.” The system was located far south of Tonga at 2pm today as it continued to move southeast away from Fiji. “It no longer poses a threat to Fiji. It is expected to weaken to extra-tropical low in the next 24 hours or so,” the Department of Information said.“At about 3pm yesterday, the eye was over the southwestern part of Kadavu, thus making a landfall.”
