Ground Zero
I heard a story. Very thoughtful.
A man was driving a car on isolated road passing through forest side. A stone hit his car. He stopped and saw that a very small, young boy has thrown that stone. He asked that boy the reason. The boy replied that his brother has fallen from wheelchair and he couldn’t lift him up and needed help. He tried to stop the cars and asked for help but nobody did. So in desperation, to stop the car, he had to hit the stone. The gentleman helped that small boy. This incident made him think. He never repaired the dent on his branded car so that every time he would look at it, it will remind him to be helpful.
Nature and We
We all, whole world is fighting a battle against this corona virus. Don’t you think it is a call for help not only to help nature but us and other living creatures and other natural elements as well. We never pay attention, enough attention till it affects drastically. Some few alert people make noise but till it does not attack our comfort or affects us seriously we don’t pay required attention or take steps i.e. use of plastic bags.
The simplest example is running water. How many people keep the tap open while brushing, washing utensils, clothes or simply do not care to turn off the tap, lights or air conditioning. How many people do not even blink to order more food in restaurants or in events and just waste it.
Reality Check
Yes, it feels harsh but we act as if we are deaf, dumb and blind. We are so engrossed in our daily life, our problems and on and on that we never think as a human on a large scale. We have lots of energy, intelligence and capacity as a human, many things above animals. Why can’t we become responsible human beings first?
When our life is going on smoothly we are not interested. In fact, we feel bored to even read or listen to such things. I am sure now, if you are still reading this, that’s because now we are seriously threatened by virus.
Drop by Drop
A lake is made by drops. We just breathe, pass day by day but as if zombie in sleep. We wake up enough only if it attacks us or our loved ones directly and with force. Now you will say what nonsense are we talking about. Now let us deal with this current problem of COVID-19. But, but, today this virus, tomorrow some other virus or some other problem will come. How many times we will only deal with only present threats. Why can’t we start from the root of the problem. Yes, we can’t go back in time to to when they didn’t occur. We can’t stop using smart phones or computers or any other electronic device. We can’t abandon the lives but we can modify it, we can take care of using all the resources carefully and keep the environment clean and needs of other people in mind.
Ground Zero
Now many countries are in lockdown situations. Daily life, economy and health and mental & physical life is affected on a large scale. The world thinks as a whole world and not separate based on creed, caste and race. All doors of man are closed such that the only true door is open: the door of God. Usually we always long for extra off day, holiday so we can rest or just relax – now we have it. Yes, we can’t go out but we can read good books, watch some programmes, clean our home, talk with long-lost friends. We can pursue our hobbies or try new ones. It is like as if somebody said stop! So back to our first thought that let use this time with patience and give it a thought about changing our outlook towards life. Let us check our perception. Let us give priority to our family and friends and nature.
