Chase the Ace – Westville Fire Department and Westville Legion, 2-4 p.m., in support of Westville Fire and Rescue and the Westville Rink Commission. Cafe and Market – Merigomish Schoolhous­e Community Centre, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. featuring a brunch and local market items for sale.

Caribou District Fire Department – 30th anniversar­y open house, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 512 Three Brooks Rd. Trucks displays, equipment demos, horse and wagon rides, bouncy castle, barbecue, book giveaways for kids, door prizes. Cellar to Attic Sale – St. Andrews Presbyteri­an Church Hall, George St., New Glasgow, 8-11:30 a.m. Proceeds for pipe organ restoratio­n fund. Large selection. Old Time Dance – West Branch Community Hall has been cancelled due to illness. Next dance is Aug. 27. Outside Giant Yard Sale – First Presbyteri­an, Stellarton, 8 a.m.noon. Something for everyone.

July 24

Hymn Sing Worship Service – Hosted by Lighthouse Mennonite Church, Hector Square Gazebo, Pictou, 6 p.m. Weather permitting. All welcome. Annual Chicken Barbecue – 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Toney River community hall. 1/2 chicken meal: $12; 1/4 chicken meal: $8. Musical entertainm­ent, new Toney River T-shirts for sale.
