Local entrepreneurs to be guest speakers at achievement awards

The Pictou County Chamber of Commerce has announced their 2016 Chamber Business Achievement Awards will feature Dragon’s Den competition winners Jeff Davis and Seth Rozee as guest speakers and will honour Dr. John Hamm for lifetime achievement.

The annual celebration of Pictou County’s business community will be held Oct. 26 at the deCoste Performing Arts Centre in Pictou, the 25th year for the much-anticipated event.

“We are very happy to feature two of our local entrepreneurs who are taking their innovative product, ‘StashBelt,’ and running with it on an international stage, with the help of their Dragon’s Den mentor David Chilton,” said Chamber executive director Jack Kyte. “And as we celebrate our young professionals, we have an opportunity to recognize the contributions of Dr. Hamm who has been an enthusiastic supporter of the business community for many years.”

Kyte said that the Chamber will be featuring a new award this year to recognize women in business in conjunction with the Chamber’s recently announced partnership with the Centre for Women in Business at Mount Saint Vincent University.
