Suspension lifted on doctor charged with voyeurism
NEW GLASGOW – A New Glasgow doctor charged with voyeurism has had his interim suspension lifted. In a news release Friday, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia said that the interim suspension of the medical licence of Dr. Rafid Al-Nassar, has been lifted. Al-Nassar is required to have a chaperone present for all patient encounters, except those that occur in the operating room. “A college sign regarding this requirement is to be placed in all waiting rooms and examination rooms where patients are seen,” the organization said in the release. Al-Nassar was charged with voyeurism in November following a ninemonth police investigation in which police allege he was video recording people in situations where they had an expectation of privacy. He will return to provincial court in Pictou on March 6. The doctor’s license was suspended on Nov. 29 of last year on an interim basis.
