NEW GLASGOW – Isabel Margaret “Bell” Fraser, 84, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Willow Avenue and Little Harbour Road, New Glasgow, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the Villa.

Born and raised in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Margaret (MacInnis) Cameron.

Bell worked in retail most of her life beginning with Robertson’s Drug Store, Ormond’s Drug Store and finally for over 20 years with Sears Canada. She enjoyed assisting her customers and maintainin­g lifelong friendship­s with many of her co-workers.

Throughout her life, Bell remained focused on caring and doing for her family and friends. Despite being widowed at a young age, she always made the best of life with her son, Gary. Her sisters, Jessie and Betty were her best friends all her life.

Bell traveled to Europe while Gary was teaching in the Netherland­s and especially enjoyed her trip to Paris. She took special pride in the accomplish­ments of her grandchild­ren, Adam and Sarah, particular­ly watching their hockey games at the Wellness Centre. Visitors to her home were always welcomed with a cup of tea, sandwich or biscuit and always a sweet, as Bell enjoyed baking for family and friends.

Surviving are son, Gary (Ronalda) Fraser, New Glasgow; grandchild­ren, Adam and Sarah; sister, Jessie Ann Wadden, New Glasgow; niece, Janice Laureijs; nephews, Christophe­r DeYoung (Shauna) and David (Lily) DeYoung.

Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by husband, Lorne Moffett Fraser and sister, Elizabeth “Betty” DeYoung; nephew-in-law, John Laureijs.

The family will host a gathering 3-5 p.m. Sunday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
