Fridays

Chase the Ace – with entertainm­ent at Pictou Legion, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Bingo – New Glasgow Legion. Doors open 6 p.m., 1st mini 7:10, regular games start at 8. Everyone welcome.

Cribbage – Westville legion, 7:30 p.m. Admission $5. Meat Darts, 8 p.m., cost $4. All welcome.

Karaoke – Stellarton legion, 8 p.m.-12, $3 per person. Chase the Ace draw during evening.

Card Party – St Bee’s Church Hall, Westville. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cards start at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes, plus lunch is served.

Knitting Circle – The Stellar Knitters, 1 p.m. at Stellarton library, novice and experience­d. Yarn and needles can be supplied or bring your own project.

Women on Wheels – Pictou library 10 a.m. Senior women enjoying short bike rides, healthy snacks and connecting with others.

Toddle Time – 10:15-11:15 a.m., Westville Library, ages 18 months-3 years. Stories, songs, games, crafts. To register, 902-3965022.

Toddle Time – 10:45-11:45 a.m., Stellarton Library, 18 months- 3 years. Stories, songs, fun and games. To register, 902-755-1638. Space is limited.

Gamers Afterschoo­l – 3-5 p.m., Westville library. Drop in for a gaming session for children ages 8-14.

Stellar Curling Club – Chase the Ace and open curling 6-8 p.m. Winning ticket drawn at 8:15.

Aberdeen Palliative Care Society – Annual general meeting, 1:30 -3:30 p.m., 5 West Conference Room, Aberdeen Regional Hospital. Guest speaker: Harry Munro, Attorney on “Advnced Care & Personal Directives”.

Embrace the World – (formerly called Mind Matters) planning spring event at 7 p.m. in Dr. Kaiprath’s office (upstairs in the Lawtons building) in New Glasgow. New volunteer welcome.

Old Time Dance – in the Lorne community hall from 8-11 p.m. Music by the Bible Hill Swingsters. Admission $6. Shared lunch.

Auction 45’s – at Trenton Legion at 1 p.m.

Laughter Yoga – Laugh for health and happiness. Everyone welcome and it’s free. New Glasgow Library 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Shopkins Party – at Pictou library, 10:30 a.m.

Trivia – Pictou Legion, 6-10 p.m. No charge.

Lottery Ticket Tree Sale – by 55+ Club, New Glasgow, also bake sale and book sale at the Highland Square Mall,10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Fund raiser for the new Community seniors complex in New Glasgow.

March 12

Chase the Ace – at both Trenton Legion and upstairs of Trenton Fire Hall. Tickets sold at both locations from 2-4 p.m. with draw to follow at the Legion. Must be present to win. Bar open from 1- 5 p.m. Hot dogs and hamburgers sold during ticket sale period. Jackpot for Mar. 12 is $22,106.

Dance – Pictou legion, with Robert Simpson, 6-10 p.m. Admission $5.

Irish Hooley/Jam Session – Plymouth Community Centre 2 p.m. Chili/stew for sale $7. Free will offering for music at door. Musicians and audience welcome.

March 13

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program – For low income, simple returns. Trenton Steeltown Friendly Group 1-4 p.m. Monday Music in Alma – at 7:30 p.m. presents “Grooveback” in concert at Green Hill - Alma United Church. Admission: $10 or pay what you can afford.

Women Alike Group – (Breast Cancer Survivors) meeting at Glen Haven Manor 7 p.m. Guest speaker Cheryl MacKay of Perfect Bras.

March 14

Pictou County Parkinson Support Group – 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room of the Atlantic Superstore. Guest Speaker Crystal Cameron, physiother­apist. All Welcome.

Caregiver Support Group – from 9:15 11:15 a.m. at the Westville Library, Community Room, 2042 Queen St., Westville. Will be held monthly.

Book Sail – at the River John Community H.U.B. Centre (School Street) from 2 – 6 p.m. Over 2,000 gently used books, music, and movies at bargain prices. All proceeds go to the River John Action Society. Call 902-6956939 for info or book donations.

Community Café – A walking tour of Ireland with Eric Stackhouse, 1:30 p.m. Lght refreshmen­ts served (Irish tea & soda bread) Looking into Anger – What do we do with our mad, sad, bad feelings? What are healthy alternativ­es? Pictou County Women’s Resource and Sexual Assault Centre is hosting a four week series beginning March 15 from 6 -8 p.m. at the Centre, 503 South Frederick Street, New Glasgow. AGM – The Pictou County Prostate Cancer Support Associatio­n will be holding its annual general meeting on at 7 p.m. in the United Commercial Travellers building beside Summer Street Industries on Park St., New Glasgow. Social time will follow.
