● Lego Builders – 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Ages five and older. Drop in to build, invent and create with Lego, including special projects featuring gears, machines, and mechanisms. Free admission, no pre-registrati­on required. Museum of Industry, Stellarton.

● Knitting Club For Kids – Fourth Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m., Westville Library this fall.

● Cribbage – Westville legion, 7:30 p.m. Admission $5, all welcome.

● Auction 45s – Seniors Building, Park St., Stellarton, 7 p.m.

● Mixed Dart League – Westville legion, 7:30 p.m. Admission, $20 per person to join for the year. Everyone welcome.

● Toddle Time – Pictou library, 10:30 a.m., for 15 months to 3 years. Youth programs 3-5 p.m.

● Bible Lessons – Also singing and games, Maranatha Bible Church, 490 Abercrombi­e Rd., New Glasgow, 6-7:30 p.m., for ages 5-12.

● VON-Adult Day Program

● Community Volunteer Income Tax Program – For low income, simple returns. New Glasgow Superstore 1-4 p.m.

● Book Sale – River John Community H.U.B. Centre (School Street) from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. Over 2,000 gently used books, music, and movies at bargain prices. All proceeds go to the River John Action Society. Call 902-695-6939 for info or book donations.

● New Glasgow and Area Highland Garden Club – Meeting 7 p.m. at Glen Haven Manor, please use rear entrance. Guest speaker Kathy MacLean will do a slide presentati­on on bees and their importance to our gardens. Light lunch. New members welcome.

● 20th Century Women – Plaid Marquee presenting comedydram­a at Cineplex, New Glasgow, 7 p.m. Starring Annette Bening and Elle Fanning, the film was considered a sleeper hit of 2016. Doors at 6:30 p.m., tickets $10.

Bag Sale – IODE Nearly New Shop, behind New Glasgow Fire Hall. 1-3:30 p.m. Filled bag for $5.

April 1

● Newfie Night – Stellarton legion, featuring “Lukey’s Boat”. Dance 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Admission $8. Also serving Corned beef and cabbage supper 6-8 p.m. $12 a plate. Takeouts available.

April 2

● Dance – Pictou legion, 6-10 p.m., with Mackie (Dean and Anne Marie MacKenzie). Admission $5.

April 3

● Cemetery AGM – Annual meeting of the Telford Cemetery 7 p.m. in the Sutherland River Community Centre. All lot holders are urged to attend.

● Aberdeen Hospital Auxiliary

– Meeting, 1st floor board room 12:30 p.m.

April 5

● Community Playground – 6:30 p.m. at the North End Rec Centre to get community input on a new community playground. Everyone welcome.

● Fabulous Fabric Repurposed – with Marla Cameron, 2:30 p.m. at the Westville library.

● Puppet Show – For the whole family “Duck & the Key to Every Door” & “Easter Rabbit’s Basket”10:30 a.m. at Pictou library.

● Monthly Meeting – for the New Glasgow 55+ Club. 1:30 p.m. in New Glasgow Fire Hall. Free parking for members at meters. Speaker on nutrition. Club loto tree draw will be held. Tickets for lotto tree on sale April 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wal-Mart.

April 6

● Easter Eggstravag­anza– 10:30noon at Pictou library. Children will create their own unique “Easter Egg” using many different embellishm­ents & decoration­s. Registrati­on required. Space is limited.

● Easter Egg Hunt – 1-4:30 p.m. at

Pictou library. Drop in and search the library for those “little chocolate eggs – 10 of them, then if you like, you can trade them in for a book or poster.

● Spring Breakfast – Plymouth Fire Hall, 7-11 a.m. Cost $8.

● Laughter Yoga – Laugh for health and happiness. Everyone welcome and it’s free. New Glasgow Library 1:30-2:30 p.m.

April 10-13

● 20 Minutes at the Foot of the Cross – Four noontime devotions during Holy Week, First Baptist Church, New Glasgow, 12:15-12:35 p.m. The speakers will be: (10th) Rev. Dr. Moses Adekola, (11th) Rev. Dr. Joon Ki Kim, (12th) Rev. Darlene Jewers, and (13th) Rev. John Dunnett. Everyone is invited.
