Walter Rann

Walter Robert Rann, age 87 of Fraser’s Mountain, passed away April 22, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Montreal, he was a son of the late Walter and Agnes (Stott) Rann.

Walter moved to Stellarton in 1938. He was a former employee of Nova Scotia Power where he worked as a lineman.

Walter was a former trumpet player with the New Horizons Senior Band and the Pictou County Brass and Reed Band.

He was a member of Keith Masonic Lodge #23, Fuller Lodge #5 IOOF, the Elks Club in New Glasgow, former member of Maple Leaf Lodge Knights of Pythias, Admiral Murray Branch of RCNA and Branch #28 Royal Canadian Legion, Stellarton.

He is survived by loving and devoted friend Kay Fortune, Westville; sisters Joyce George, Riverton; Aileen Rann, Halifax, several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his wife Elizabeth “Bette” Petelka and special friend Jean Stewart.

Cremation has taken place There will be no visitation or service at Walter’s request. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
