Fridays

● Chase the Ace – at the River John Legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets sold 6:30-8:30 p.m. with draw at 9 p.m. Tickets three for $5, seven for $10.00 and 15 for $20. Jackpot started at $2,000. Must be present to win. Music by The Geezer.

● Chase the Ace – With entertainm­ent at Pictou Legion, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

● Bingo – New Glasgow Legion. Doors open 6 p.m., 1st mini 7:10, regular games start at 8. Everyone welcome.

● Cribbage – Westville legion, 7:30 p.m. Admission $5. Meat Darts, 8 p.m., cost $4. All welcome.

● Karaoke – Stellarton legion, 8 p.m.-12, $3 per person. Chase the Ace draw during evening.

● Card Party – St Bee’s Church Hall, Westville. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cards start at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes, plus lunch is served.

● Knitting Circle – The Stellar Knitters, 1 p.m. at Stellarton library, novice and experience­d. Yarn and needles can be supplied or bring your own project.

● Women on Wheels – Pictou library 10 a.m. Senior women enjoying short bike rides, healthy snacks and connecting with others.

● Toddle Time – 10:15-11:15 a.m., Westville Library, ages 18 months-3 years. Stories, songs,

games, crafts. To register, 902-3965022.

● Toddle Time – 10:45-11:45 a.m., Stellarton Library, 18 months- 3 years. Stories, songs, fun and games. To register, 902-755-1638. Space is limited.

● Gamers Afterschoo­l – 3-5 p.m., Westville library. Drop in for a gaming session for children ages 8-14.

● Stellar Curling Club – Chase the Ace and open curling 6-8 p.m. Winning ticket drawn at 8:15.

● Aging in Place – 2-3:30 p.m. at Pictou United Church, 47 James St., Cindie Smith of Caregivers Nova Scotia will conduct a presentati­on/ discussion around planning for rewarding living at home and in the community. Indicate your interest by calling 902-485-8081.

● Understand­ing Dementia – informal discussion sessions with Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia outreach coordinato­r Beth Jackson, 3-4 p.m., Stellarton library.

● Plaid Marquee – The Iranian drama, The Salesman at 7 p.m. at Cineplex Theatres, New Glasgow. Recognized as one of the best internatio­nal films of 2016, The Salesman picked up an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Doors 6:30 p.m., all tickets $10.

● Annual Fishermen’s Concert – Caribou Fire Hall 7 p.m. Price $7. All proceeds to Northumber­land Fisheries Museum.

● Karen MacDonald Fundraisin­g Concert – Lismore Community Centre, 7:30 p.m. Saltwater Joy (Irish songs), Harry Brooks ( vocals, mandolin), Mary Batchilder (fiddle and accordian), David Anderson (vocals, guitar and gass), Gordie Anderson (guitar and vocals), and more.

● Sexual Violence Forum – Hosted by the Pictou County Women’s Resource and Sexual Assault Centre, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Summer St. Industries, New Glasgow. Keynote speaker is sexual violence therapist Nakita Archibald who will speak about trauma’s impact on victim response. ● Fundraisin­g Benefit for Kent Corbett – 1 p.m.-2 a.m. at the Pictou Legion. It wil include kitchen party style entertainm­ent, hourly 50/50 draws, silent auction and donations at the door.

● Maple Syrup Festival – Kenzievill­e Community Centre 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Cost: $10 adult, $5 children. Maple syrup products provided by Haveracres Maple Farm, St. Joseph’s. Pictou County Fiddlers from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
