● Blue Mountain Cemetery Meeting – for lot holders at 10 a.m. at the Blue Mountain Fire Hall. Cleanup to follow at the cemetery.

May 7
● Mother’s Day of Crafts and High Tea – 12-5 p.m. at Northumberland Regional High School in Alma. Shop from local artists and entrepreneurs, enjoy a high tea service, and take part in craft classes to make a gift to take home.
● Dance – Pictou legion 6-10 p.m. with Robert Simpson. Admission $5, everyone welcome.
● Battle of Atlantic Anniversary
– At Bethel Presbyterian Church, Pictou Landing, at 11 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service and a Roll Call of Ships, at the Cairn. Services will be indoors in case of inclement weather. A light lunch will be served. Hosted by Admiral Murray RCN Association. All welcome.
● Chase the Ace – at Trenton Community Rink and Trenton Legion. Tickets sold at both locations from 2-4 p.m. with draw to follow at the rink. This week’s jackpot is $43,425.50. Age 19 and over.
● Annual Clean Up - At Springville Cemetery, 2-4 p.m. Bring your rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows. All lot owners/volunteers welcome. Rain date, May 8 same time.

● Women Alike Group – (Breast Cancer Survivors) meeting at Glen Haven Manor (back door), 7 p.m. Guest speaker Vickie MacLeod will guide us through her journey with breast cancer.
May 9
●ABook Sail’ – River John Community HUB Centre (School Street) 2-6 p.m. Over 2,000 gently used books, music, and movies at bargain prices. All proceeds go to the River John Action Society. Call 902695-6939 for information, inquiries, or book donations. ● Pictou County Mental Illness Family Support Group – 7-9 p.m. in Room A-151 (Please note room change this month only) NSCC Acadia Avenue, Stellarton. Andrew Potter-Cogan Med. Counselling and A British army veteran with over ten years working with veterans in coming to terms with PTSD, will join the group to share his knowledge and experience on assessment, intervention, crisis response, eating disorders, meditation, trauma and mental health. Use side entrance.

● Waulking the Cloth – The History of the Scottish Tradition, 1 p.m., Stellarton Library. May is Gaelic Nova Scotia Month. Presenter Wendy McInnis, from the Pictou County Gaelic Society, will teach one Gaelic milling song during the presentation. All are welcome.
● Soup and Dessert Luncheon
– Salem Church Hall, Green Hill, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost $8, takeout available.

● Gyro Cellar to Attic Sale – Bluenose Curling Club, Park St., New Glasgow, May 12: 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 13: 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Gyros sending kids to Big Cove Camp.
