● VON-Adult Day Program

● Pictou County Mental Illness Family Support Group – 7-9 p.m. in Room A-151 (Please note room change this month only) NSCC Acadia Avenue, Stellarton. Andrew Potter-Cogan Med. Counsellin­g and A British army veteran with over ten years working with veterans in coming to terms with PTSD, will join the group to share his knowledge and experience on assessment, interventi­on, crisis response, eating disorders, meditation, trauma and mental health. Use side entrance.

● Pictou County Parkinsons Support Group – will meet 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the community meeting room of the Atlantic Superstore. Guest speaker will be Heather Cameron, musical therapist.

● Waulking the Cloth – The History of the Scottish Tradition, 1 p.m., Stellarton Library. May is Gaelic Nova Scotia Month. Presenter Wendy McInnis, from the Pictou County Gaelic Society, will teach one Gaelic milling song during the presentati­on. All are welcome.

● Soup and Dessert Luncheon

– Salem Church Hall, Green Hill, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost $8, takeout available.

● Meat Darts – at Trenton Legion at 7:30 p.m.

● Karaoke & Chase the Ace – Stellarton Legion 8 p.m.-12. Admission $3 each. Jackpot $9,700 with only 10 cards left.

● Gyro Cellar to Attic Sale – Bluenose Curling Club, Park St., New Glasgow, May 12: 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 13: 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Gyros sending kids to Big Cove Camp.

● Variety Supper – in support of the IWK Children’s Hospital will be held at the Toney River Community Hall, from 4-6 p.m. $10/adults, $5/children under 12. Take-outs available.

● Breakfast at St. Columba – 8-11 a.m., 4144 Trafalgar Road, Hopewell. Adults $7, Children $3.

● Embracing the World – 2017 Spiritual Celebratio­n devoted to world humanitari­an, Amma. From 9-9:15 a.m., world peace prayers to be held at Pictou Hector Quay. In the afternoon, the main program will be held from 2-5 p.m. at Northumber­land Regional High School. This free event will include videos, music, meditation, a visit by a swami and vegetarian food.

● East River Pastoral Charge Pot Luck Supper – at Springvill­e Church Hall from 4-6 p.m. Adults $10, children $5. Also pantry table. Take outs available.

● Craft Material and Supplies Sale – at ADE Tri-Lodge, 327 Little Harbour Road, New Glasgow, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All new merchandis­e donated from Michaels. All proceeds to Pictou County Shrine Club Sick Children’s Travel Fund.

● Mother’s Day Turkey Supper

– Mill Brook Community Club. Adults $12 / Children under 12 $6. Settings at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Takeouts available. Tickets sold
