Daniel Jerome Druhan passed away in his sleep, in his home in Beaconsfie­ld, Que.

Born in Westville, N.S., on April 30, 1919, Jerry was a son of Catherine (Chisholm) and Patrick Druhan.

He graduated from St. Francis Xavier University, B. Science degree in 1942.

He then joined the Royal Cdn. Artillery, and served oversees until he was injured on Nov. 29/43 in Italy. Invalided home, he made a good recovery.

In 1945, he married Winifred Morrison and they moved to Ottawa where Jerry was employed by the National Research Council, for 15 years. They then moved to Beaconsfie­ld, Que, and Jerry was employed by the Monsanto Co. From 1968 until retirement he worked as a private consultant of a patent firm.

Jerry enjoyed his family, home and garden. He volunteere­d much of his time to activities in his parish church, St. Edmund of Canterbury.

He is survived by his wife, Ingeborg Skowronek; daughters: Johanna, Toronto, Margaret, Vancouver, Stephanie, Toronto; sons: Patrick (Leslie), Jonathan (Lorraine); granddaugh­ter, Caitlin; grandson, Joshua, all of Pennsylvan­ia; sister, Mercedes O’Reilly, Hopewell, N.S.; step-daughters, Beatrix, Hilde, Eva Marie, all of Germany, and Maggie Kaussen, Beaconsfie­ld.

Predecease­d by his first wife of 48 years, Winnifred Morrison; sisters: May (Rod) Shepard, Kay (Larry) Herzog, Isabel (Bill) Ingarfield; brothers, James (Pat) Druhan, John (Vange) Druhan and Lonnie; two brothers and one sister in infancy and brother-in law, Ed O’Reilly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edmund of Canterbury Church, Beaconsfie­ld, on May 13, 2017. Interment in parish cemetery.
