● Live Music – at Trenton Legion with Dennis & Bud, 8 p.m.-close.

● Old Time Dance – in the Lorne community hall, 8-11 p.m.. Music by the Bible Hill Swingsters. Admission $6 shared lunch.

● Summer Coffee Party – 10 a.m. – noon at the Little Harbour Community Centre. There will be a bake and art sale as well as books and new to you. Cost is $5. All proceeds will go to the Little Harbour Presbyteri­an Church.

● Chase the Ace – at Trenton Rink and Trenton Legion. Advance tickets sold at following vendors (cash only): Tartan Blade Barbershop (from Monday morning-Saturday at 4 p.m.), Cornish’s Variety, Crossroads Country Market and

Needs in Trenton (from Monday morning each day until 8 p.m. only up to Saturday at 8 p.m.), Branch #29, RCL, Trenton (Wednesday Saturday from 12-8 p.m.). Tickets will also be sold on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Trenton Legion and Trenton Rink. Draw at the rink shortly after 5 p.m. Winner will be called if not present. Jackpot this week is $166,073. Ages 19 and older only.

● Monday Music – with Don Haggart, Pictou County’s ambassador of country gospel, 7 p.m. at Green Hill - Alma United Church. Admission: $10 or what you can afford.

● All a Buzz – presentati­on about honeybees and beekeeping, with Donald Dunbar (Dunbar Apiary, in Hopewell) at 7 p.m. at New Glasgow Library (Community Room).

● Valley View Cemetery - East

River St. Mary’s. Annual clean up day starting at 8 a.m. Bring shovels, rakes etc.

● Ham/Salad and Strawberry Supper – at St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church Hall in Gairloch, 4-6 p.m. Adults $10, children $5. Take out available.

July 16

● Strawberry Tea – The annual Rose Fraser Strawberry Tea will be held in the Durham Community Hall, 3-5 p.m. Enjoy old-fashion strawberry shortcake heaped with local berries along with an assortment of sandwiches, tea, coffee or punch. Pantry table. Wheelchair accessible.

July 19

● Red Cross Babysitter­s Course – hosted by Pictou Recreation Aquatics. Course runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participan­ts must be at least 11 years of age. For more details or to register call the Pictou Fisheries Pool at 902-485-5301 or email aquatics@townofpict­ou.ca.
