● Coffee and ConveRsati­on – Pictou County Women’s Resource and Sexual Assault Centre, 503 South Frederick St., New Glasgow, for women 1-3 p.m.

● Mixed Fun Darts – at 7:30 p.m. at Stellarton Legion. Cost $3 to play. Everyone welcome.

● Colouring for Adults – Last Thursday of the month, 7 p.m. New Glasgow library.

● Scott Woods Concert – 7 p.m. at Sharon St. John United Church, 33 Acadia Ave., Stellarton. Tickets $25 for adults and $10 for children. Woods is a renowned Canadian fiddle champion.

● Canada 150 Celebratio­n – Durham Community Hall 1-4 p.m. Free BBQ and cake, activities, Canadiana displays, guided cemetery tour at 2 p.m. and lily garden tour. This is a free event.

● Car Wash Bottle Drive – Fundraiser for U16 & U18 NS Rugby Nationals Trip from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Scotsburn Fire Hall. Recommende­d donation $5-$10 for car wash. ● Salmon and Strawberry Shortcake Supper – at St. Paul’s Presbyteri­an Church in Merigomish, 4-6 pm. Adults $15. Children $7. Pantry Table. Takeouts available.

● Lobster Dinner – Caribou District Fire Hall 4 to 7 p.m. or sold out. Eat in or take out. Cost $20 each.

● Old Time Dance – Toney River Community Hall, 7:30 p.m., Music by Raymond, Marlene and Lynne, Adm: $7, shared lunch.

● Large Indoor Yard Sale – 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at First Presbyteri­an Church, New Glasgow. Use James Street entrance. Also baked goods, plants, clothing, etc. Tickets on basket of summer items. Proceeds for Canadian Bible Society.

● Show and Sale – Hosted by The Northumber­land Quilt Guild 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the de Coste Centre, 85 Water St., Pictou. Admission $5/ person, includes light lunch.

August 6

● Giant Fabric and Yarn Sale – Looking for Donations. Proceeds to benefit the Grandmothe­rs to Grandmothe­rs Campaign. Donations needed by August 6.
