● VON-Adult Day Program – Therapeuti­c activities and caregiver relief with focus on wellness, socializat­ion, recreation and rehabilita­tion. For adults at risk of going into LTC. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Westville Recreation Building. Call 301-9538 for info. Transporta­tion can be provided.

● ABCs for Babies – Pictou library 10:30 a.m. for newborns to 15 months.

● Knit or Crochet – Drop-in group, Pictou library 3-4:30 p.m. Bring your own yarn and needles.

● Bluenose Rug Hooking – from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Superstore community room, New Glasgow. New members welcome.

● Tween Scene – 3-4 p.m., Westville Library, ages 8-14 invited to hang out and create together. Crafts, games, puppetry, art, poetry, guest speakers, snacks. To register, 902396-5022.

● Gaelic Friends – Group interested in speaking Gaelic meeting at Pictou library 6:30 p.m.

● Pictou Garden Club – First meeting of the upcoming season, 7 p.m., Oddfellows Community Room. Junior Gardener awards will be presented at this meeting. Refreshmen­ts will be served. All welcome. September 28

● Cemetery Meeting – for the Kenzievill­e Cemetery at 7 p.m. at the church hall in Kenzievill­e. All interested persons are encouraged to come out.

● Soup and Dessert Luncheon – St Bees’ Anglican Church (Helping Hands) Westville, 11:30-1 p.m. $8. Take out available.

● Youth Neon Dance – North End Rec Centre - $3 admission. 6:30 -7:30 p.m. for Grades Primary to 5; 7:30 – 9 p.m. for Grades 6-8.

● Pictou County Blues Society – presents Lindsay Beaver & The 24th St. Wailers Whitetail Pub and Grill, Westville at 8 p.m. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 door. 50/50 Draw Roots for Youth in loving memory of Juliann Thompson.

● Family Movie Night – 6:30 p.m. – North End Rec Centre – Free admission. Concession­s available.

● Variety Concert – 7 p.m. in the Middle River Church, Rocklin. Admission $5. There will be yummy fudge.

● Variety Concert – 7:30 p.m. at Lismore Community Hall hosted by The Karen Lynn MacDonald Allergy Awareness Society. Featuring Heather Cameron, Burns MacDonald, Gary Connors & Anne Baxter and John & Joyce Wilhem.

● Community Fun Day – Abercrombi­e Fire Department, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. BBQ (donations accepted), games and demos, Sparky the Fire Dog, bouncey house, chili competitio­n and more.

● Autumn Fair – at The Meadowvill­e-Poplar Hill Community Hall, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
