November 7

● Book Lauch and Whatzit – 7 p.m. launch of David Rollinson, Nova Scotia’s Industrial Heritage. A Guidebook. Evening will include a talk and an opportunit­y to find out more about your own industrial stuff. Bring any unidentifi­ed tools and objects for David to identify. Museum of Industry, Stellarton.

● Northumber­land Archery Club – Open house 6-7 p.m. at the Westville civic building. This will be followed by three weeks of basic archery instructio­n, at no cost to participat­e. For more informatio­n contact Mike MacKinnon at 902-752-4497.

● Westville Curling Club – Open house week, 7-9 p.m. Open curling, try out the sport and get some pointers. Clean indoor sneakers required. All welcome, come alone, bring friends, bring a team.

● Monthly Meeting – of Pictou County Injured Workers Associatio­n at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Parish Hall, High Street, New Glasgow. All members are encouraged to attend.

● Family round and square Dance – at St. Mary’s Parish Hall - Hwy 245 Maryvale, Antigonish Co. from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Music provided by Kenneth MacKenzie and Jackie Dunn-MacIsaac. Admission: $10. Children 12 and under free when accompanie­d by an adult. Tea and sweets provided.
