WEEKLY EVENTS Fridays

● Chase the Ace – River John Legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets sold 6:30-8:30 p.m. with draw at 9 p.m. Tickets three for $5, seven for $10 and 15 for $20. Must be present to win. Music by The Geezer.

● Chase the Ace – With entertainm­ent at Pictou Legion, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

● Cribbage – Westville legion, 7:30 p.m. Admission $5. Meat Darts, 8 p.m., cost $4. All welcome.

● Card Party – St Bee’s Church Hall, Westville. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cards start at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes, plus lunch is served.

● Knitting Circle – The Stellar Knitters, 1 p.m. at Stellarton library, novice and experience­d. Yarn and needles can be supplied or bring your own project.

● Toddle Time – 10:15-11:15 a.m., Westville Library, ages 18 months-3 years. Stories, songs, games, crafts. To register, 902-396-5022.

● Pictou East PC Associatio­n – Hosting a Christmas Social 4-6 p.m. in the Westville Civic Gym. Everyone welcome.

November 24

● Chase The Ace – Branch 28 Stellarton Legion. Tickets sold from 7-10 p.m. Ticket draw 10:30 p.m. sharp. Ticket sales in the lounge.

● Hospital Auxiliary Craft Group – Hand crafted items for all seasons, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Aberdeen Hospital Main Lobby. Items for sale include Christmas crafts and decoration­s, tablecloth­s, runners and placemats, baby and children’s items, handmade baby quilts and more.

● Christmas Soup and Dessert Luncheon – First Presbyteri­an Church in New Glasgow, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (entrance behind J.R. Rahey’s) Takeout available. Call 902-7525691. Pantry table and tickets on a basket. $8 each.

November 24-25

● Nativity Display – St. Luke’s United Church, Salt Springs, 6:308:30 p.m. Sanctuary completely transforme­d into display of Nativity Sets, ranging from small to large, primitive to elaborate, and sets from around the world. Hosted by the Faith in Action Tram of Salt Springs -Scotsburn-Lyons Brook United Churches. Freewill offering for Viola’s Place Society – Pictou County Homeless Shelter. Light refreshmen­ts.

November 25

● Indoor Yard Sale – Sharon St John United Church, Acadia Ave, Stellarton, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Admission $2. Fundraiser for Pictou County Chapter CA-R-MA (Cat Rescue Maritimes).

● Christmas Turkey Supper – Hosted by Ladies Auxiliary of Second United Baptist Church 4-6 p.m. in the church hall (back of church), 330 Washington St., New Glasgow. Cost: $12.

● Auction 45s – Trenton Legion at 1 p.m.

● Christmas Dinner – The Retired Teachers Organizati­on will hold their Christmas Dinner on Nov. 29, at St Andrew’s Presbyteri­an Church Hall, Westville, at noon. Cost for turkey dinner, dessert and tea or coffee is $15. Hannah and the Boys will be musical guests. Reserve by calling Shirley Jeffery at 902-923-2965 by Nov. 25.

● Annual Tea & Sale – Blue Mountain & District Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Blue Mountain Fire Hall. Sandwiches, sweets, tea, coffee, pantry table, tickets on a jam basket, grocery box & Santa’s Sock. Also vendor tables. Maybe even Santa will be there! $7 adults, $3.50 children ages 5 - 10, children under 5 free

● Live Fundraisin­g Auction – Westville Curling Club. Viewing starts at 6:30 p.m., auction starts at 7. Foley St., Westville. Turn off Main St. between Tim Hortons and the Salvation Army Hall, turn right at the second street, Foley, and the parking lot is on your right.

● Old Time Dance – 7:30 p.m. at West Branch Community Hall. Music by The MacKinnons plus Marilyn, Alvin and Tracy; Roger Simm, calling. Lunch served, shared sweets. Admission $7.

November 26

● Dance – 6-10 p.m. at Stellarton Legion. Still Doin’ Time performing.

● Chase the Ace – at Trenton Legion spons. by Trenton Fire Dept and Br. #29. Tickets sold from 2-4 p.m. with draw to follow. Must be present to win. This week’s jackpot starts at $10,749. Karaoke with KGB Ent. right after draw from 4:30-9 p.m.

● Annual Memorial Tree Lighting – at Merigomish United Church at 7 p.m. Soprano, Laura Sellers and violinist, Fhinn Timmons will share their musical gifts. Lights can be purchased to adorn the tree in memory of a loved one by calling (902) 928-8888. Fellowship to follow.

● Christmas Carols at The Kirk – Scripture and carols at St. Andrew’s Presbyteri­an, Coleraine St.Pictou, 7 p.m. featuring the five town churches of Pictou. Free will offering to the Fuel Fund. Oat cakes and cheese to follow in the hall.

● Chase the Ace – for Westville Rink and Westville Legion from 1-3 p.m. held at the Westville Legion Br #35. Current jackpot $7,679.50.
