• Scottish Gaelic Cultural Evening – Join Lewis MacKinnon as he reads from his latest of 4 books of poetry “Raithean airson Sireadh” (Seaons for Seeking) 6:30 p.m. at Aite nan Gaidheal (across from Bell Aliant, Highland Square Mall). His latest book consists of Gaelic and English translatio­ns from the famous poet Rumi. Meet the author and enjoy refreshmen­ts. Swanson.

Gus is survived by his children, Rosemary, Great Village; Bill, Waterside; Bruce (Wendy White), Pictou; sisters, Marie Taylor, Cranbrook, B.C.; Chris Durning (Ron), Cranbrook, B.C.; brother, Tom (Dawn), Dartmouth; granddaugh­ters, Ginny (Jessie Conners) and Emily (Aiden Munro); greatgrand­daughters, Ember Rose and Lilith Evangeline.

He was predecease­d by sister, Gloria; brother, John; son, Robert Kimbal (Kim).

Gus began his working life as a diesel Mechanic and was employed in areas throughout eastern Canada. His hobbies included farming, constructi­on and Inventing things. Being self taught on many subjects that would be time and environmen­tally friendly.

A Celebratio­n of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 16, Pictou, on Wed nesday, Nov. 29 from 6-9 p.m.

By Gus’s request, his ashes will be laid to rest over his beloved farm and seashore in Waterside, Pictou County.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 16.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.
