EDEN LAKE — James Robert “Jim” Hillier, 76, Eden Lake, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 15, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Born in Rocky Mountain, he was a son of the late Robert and Helen (MacDonald) Hillier. Jim worked in the woods, hauling pulp for many years, and did mechanical work. He enjoyed tinkering on cars, and oil painting in later years when his health changed.

Surviving are his wife and best friend, Anne MacDonald, Eden Lake; daughter; Tracy Hillier (Kevin Durling), Blue Mountain; sons, Todd (Jennifer); and Terry, both of Blue Mountain; grandson, Taylor; great grandson, Jacob; brothers, Raymond, Coalburn; Bernie (Patsy), New Glasgow; Donald, Willowdale; Ronald (Gloria), Eden Lake; David, Truro; Howard, Willowdale; sisters, Letitia Quail, Willowdale; Carol (John) Yorke, New Glasgow; Shirley Hillier (Elizabeth Greene), Willowdale; sisters in law, Darlene Bush; Man; Cheryl Hillier, New Glasgow; numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Jim will also be missed by the MacDonald family.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by a daughter; Vivian Lee, in infancy; son, Robert “Troy”, sister, June Roux; brothers, John, William, Kenneth, Harry, Thomas, and Richard.

The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiatin­g.

Donations may be made in Jim’s memory to a charity of choice.
