“I’m proud that Sobeys employees, customers and suppliers came together and contributed so wholeheartedly to this cause.”

Stores raised funds by selling $2 Star of Christmas Stars and prefilled Hampers of Hope and encouraged customers to donate a non-perishable food item at their local stores.

Customer donations were matched by the Sobeys Inc. Better Food Fund in the amount of $100,000.

During the holiday season Sobeys also held an online con- test where stores uploaded videos of group’s singing Star of Christ- mas. The winning store for Nova Scotia was the store in Windsor with 6,081 votes online.
