NEW GLASGOW – Warren Joseph MacDonald, age 94, of Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, formerly of Victoria Ave., New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, in the Aberdeen Hospital.

Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Sidney and Anna (MacQuarrie) MacDonald.

He began his career with General Motors dealership­s, starting with Henry R. Thompson retiring from William A. O’Farrell GM as Parts Manager. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Name, Westville.

He was an avid bowler, a fan of the Crushers and Albions, and spent time at rinks and ballfields watching his grandchild­ren.

He is survived by sons: Kent (Carolyn), Liverpool; Sidney (Marjorie), Little Harbour; grandchild­ren: Daniel (Lauren), Halifax; Blair, Calgary; Michael (Diana), Franklin, Mass; greatgrand­children: Jackson and Lyla, Halifax; Bennett, Franklin, Mass; chosen daughter, Margaret Ann Leil.

He was predecease­d by his wife, Mary Joan (MacLeod); brothers: Malcolm, Clifford and Edwin.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ivey’s Terrace, for the excellent care given to Warren.

Visitation 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Monday, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, with service at 1 p.m. Monday, Father Peter MacDonald officiatin­g. Burial will be in Abercrombi­e Cemetery at a later date.
