PICTOU – It is with great sadness that the family of John Patrick Elliott, 65, of Pictou, wish to announce his sudden passing in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, Sunday January 28, 2018.

Born in Vancouver, BC, June 1, 1952, Pat is survived by brothers, Kerry “Jim” (Dale), Kentville; Chris (Sharon), New Glasgow; nephews, Randy (Mikki), Harrison, Maine; Michael (Melissa Antonsen), Kentville; nieces, Shawna and family, Westville; and Angela, New Glasgow. He was a great uncle to Noah and Ronan Elliott, whom he loved dearly. He also kept in close contact with his goddaughte­r, Jessica Chisholm.

He was predecease­d by his parents, Stephen Charles and Dorothy Lois Elliott.

Pat graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a BBA after which he worked at Pictou Industries, Hawker Siddeley, Trenton, and retired as Deputy Clerk, Town of Pictou. He enjoyed many years playing hockey and baseball as well as coaching Minor Hockey and Minor Baseball. For many years he was a foster parent within the Foster Parent Plan (now Internatio­nal Plan Canada). Pat was unwavering­ly loyal to his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are entrusted to McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family service following.
