• Knitting Circle – Alternatin­g Saturdays at 2:30 p.m., New Glasgow library.

• Auction 45s – Pictou New Horizons Club, 7 p.m. Admission $2.

• Karaoke – New Glasgow Legion by Doug Odo, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

• Family Lego Time – Pictou library, runs all day. All are welcome.

• Card Party – Bridgevill­e Community Hall 7:30 p.m. Lunch served. Everyone welcome.

• Imaginatio­n Saturdays – Make something cool to take home, crafts, Lego (drop-in, all ages) 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Pictou Library; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. River John Library; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Westville Public Library; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Stellarton Public Library.

• Steak Darts – Pictou Legion 1:30 p.m.

• Broken Mug Café – Being put on by the youth of The Salvation Army Westville, 7-9 p.m. Tickets $5 at the door, at Salvation Army, Westville. Craft table also.

• Book on Sale – Latest by Clyde MacDonald, available from members of Pictou County Roots Society at Highland Square Mall, New Glasgow, starting at 11 a.m. All proceeds go to the Pictou County Roots Society.

• Live Music – Trenton Legion with Dennis & Bud 8 p.m.-close.

• Chase The Ace – Stellarton legion lounge, tickets $5 for a strip of 4 sold 7-10 p.m., draw 1030 sharp. Jackpot starts at $2,400.25 this week. Karaoke 8-12 p.m. upstairs, adm. $3.

February 9-11

• North End Winter Carnival – Friday: 6:30-8, Bounce castles, marshmallo­w roasting and fireworks. Free admission. Canteen available. Saturday: 8-11 a.m., Pancake breakfast – Adults $5, Children $3, Family $15. 9 p.m.-1 a.m. – Dance with Pistol Packin’ Papas, 19+ event. Admission $15. Cash bar. Sunday 2 - 4 p.m. sledding party - Dover Avenue Hill with hot chocolate.

February 10

• Valerine’s Day Dance – Westville Legion 8p.m.-12. $5 per person. Music by Mackie (Dean & Ann Mackenzie). Contact for tickets Cherie Salter 902-759-2000, Donald Calder

• Free Sewing Service – For the community, First Baptist Church, 896 East River Rd., New Glasgow. Small repairs and hems. Drop-off time 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sewers are encouraged to come and assist. Contact Donna Cooper 902-755-0841.

• Valentine’s Spaghetti Dinner – Sponsored by 374 Air Cadets, 110 Wing, 221 Foord St., Stellarton, 4-7 p.m. Spaghetti, garlic bread, nonalcohol­ic beverage, dessert. Eat in or take out. $8 per person, for ticket info: 902-752-4743. Limited tickets available at door. 50/50 and Valentine basket tickets.

• Trenton Legion – Auction 45’s 1pm. ’50s & ’60s theme Valentine dance 8 p.m.-12. Music by KGB Ent. $6.00 /person. Gov’t ID’s on request. Prize for best costume.

• Prize Bingo – Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Sister Catherine Steele Centre, 1 p.m., doors open 12:30. 3 card books of 15 games for $10. Fun and a chance to win prizes! Compliment­ary tea, coffee and snacks! Canteen available.

• Stellarton Legion – Smelt Fry 11 a.m. till sold out. Smelts, salad, roll, tea or coffee, take outs available, $10 a plate. Valentine’s Dance 8 p.m.-12, music by Cape Breton Rocking Country. Adm $8 pp. Lunch provided, raffle, treats for the ladies.

• Family Valentine Day Bingo – Pictou library 3-4 p.m. Challenge mom, dad, brother or sister. Prizes courtesy

of Adopt-a-Library literacy program.

February 11

• Guided Snowshoe Hike – Presented by Hike Nova Scotia and the Cape to Cape Trail Committee at 6 Mile Brook near Saltspring­s, 11:30 a.m. You must pre-register at patmacdonn­ell@eastlink.ca or 902331-0012.

• Chase the Ace – For Westville Rink and Westville Legion 1-3 p.m. held at Westville Legion Br35. Current jackpot is $12,426.

• Chase the Ace – Trenton Legion spons. by Trenton Fire Dept and Br. #29. Tickets sold 2-4 p.m. with draw to follow. Must be present to win. This week’s jackpot starts at $19,508. Karaoke with KGB Ent. right after draw, 4:30-9 p.m.

February 12

• Women Alike Group – Meeting at Glen Haven Manor (back door) 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rhonda Langille, Palliative Care, Aberdeen Hospital. This is a meeting for breast cancer survivors. Snacks provided.

February 13

• Mental Illness Family Support Group – Meeting Room B-120, NSCC, 39 Acadia Ave., Stellarton, 7-9 pm. Suzy Teubner from 211 will make a presentati­on on the free, confidenti­al 211 informatio­n service that can connect you to thousands of programs and services in Nova Scotia. All welcome.

• Worship – In the style of Taize. All are welcome to join us at Green Hill - Alma United Church, 7:30 p.m., as we prepare our hearts and minds to enter the Lenten Journey in a quiet reflective way.

• Women Together – Pictou County Women’s Resource Centre, 503 South Frederick St., 10-11:30 a.m. Learn, socialize, connect. Making DIY laundry soap.

• Pancake Supper – Shrove Tuesday. Pancakes, sausages and beans, St. Andrews Presbyteri­an Church, Westville, 4:30-6:30 p.m. $8 each. Warm Hearts fundraiser.

February 14

• Pictou County Injured Workers Associatio­n – Meeting 7 p.m. at St. John’s Parish Hall, High Street, New Glasgow. All members are encouraged to attend.
