• Knitting Circle – Alternatin­g Saturdays at 2:30 p.m., New Glasgow library.

• Auction 45s – Pictou New Horizons Club, 7 p.m. Admission $2.

• Karaoke – New Glasgow Legion by Doug Odo, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

• Family Lego Time – Pictou library, runs all day. All are welcome.

• Card Party – Bridgevill­e Community Hall 7:30 p.m. Lunch served. Everyone welcome.

• Imaginatio­n Saturdays – Make something cool to take home, crafts, Lego (drop-in, all ages) 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Pictou Library; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. River John Library; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Westville Public Library; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Stellarton Public Library.

• Steak Darts – Pictou Legion 1:30 p.m.

• Beans and Brown Bread – With gingerbrea­d, order deadline Feb. 16, pickup date Feb. 24, 9 -11 a.m. Sharon St. John United Church, Acadia Ave. Stellarton. Cost $10. Advance sales only, call 902-752-4943 Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m.-12. Delivery available.

• Chili Supper – Held by River John 4-H 4-7 p.m. at St. George’s Church Hall River John. Includes 12 oz bowl chili, biscuit, tea/ coffee and cupcake for dessert for $6. Takeouts and delivery available in the River John area, please call 351-2061 or 7594595.

• Chase The Ace – Stellarton legion lounge, tickets $5 for a strip of 4 sold 7-10 p.m. Draw 10:30 sharp. Jackpot starts at $2445.25 this week. Karaoke 8-12 p.m. upstairs. Adm $3.

February 17

• Dance & Drumming – Traditiona­l and modern African dance & drumming workshop with Maritime Centre for African Dance, New Glasgow library 11:30 a.m. Everyone welcome.

• Valentine’s Coffee Party – St. Andrew’s Ladies Guild, New Glasgow, (George St. entrance) 10 a.m.-12, with pantry table. $7 admission.

• Cape Breton Style – Square Dance at Plymouth Community Centre. Come to listen or come to dance, everyone welcome! Music by Heather Cameron, Lorna Kennedy, and Fhinn Timmons. Beginners lesson at 6:30 p.m. led by Irene Endicott. Dance begins at 7. $5 or by donation.

• Auction 45s – Trenton Legion 1 p.m.

• Silent Auction/Benefit Dance – In Memory of Mary Pineau. West River Fire Hall 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Music by Frank Gammel. Admission by donation.

• Pub Night Fundraiser – For McCulloch Education Centre Home and School, featuring The Kitchen Criminals at Pictou Fire Hall 9 p.m.-1 a.m. $10 advance tickets available from the school or $12 tickets at the door.

• Oscar Hawboldt Memorial – Auction 45s Tournament at Trenton Legion at 1 p.m. $12/person, bring your own partner.

• African Heritage Month Display

– Pictou County YMCA (Quilts and other items) 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

• African Drumming Workshop

≠ Pictou County YMCA (Ages 10+) 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 2:30-3:30 p.m. Space is limited to 20 people. Instructor: Myla Borden. Register online at the YMCA Facebook page.

February 18

• Chase the Ace – Trenton Legion spons. by Trenton Fire Dept and Br. #29. Tickets sold 2-4 p.m. with draw to follow. Must be present to win. This week’s jackpot starts at $20,660. Karaoke with KGB Ent. right after draw 4:30-9 p.m.

• Family Fun Day – Hosted by River John and Sunrise Trail 4-H clubs at the River John Legion 2-4 p.m. as

part of River John Winter Carnival. Lots of games, cakewalk and mini cafe.

February 19

• Free Family Skate – Sponsored by Shiretown Dental at Hector Arena, Pictou, 3-5 p.m. Hot chocolate will be provided.

• Heritage Day – Free admission to Museum of Industry, Stellarton, 9-5. Nova Scotia honoree is Mona Louise Parsons, a Canadian hero of the Second World War. See uniforms from World War II, an activity inviting visitors to try sending simple Morse Code. Special guests and activities including weaving and our first History Book Sale.

February 20

• Women Together – Pictou County Women’s Resource Centre, 503 South Frederick St., 10-11:30 a.m. Learn, socialize, connect. Talking about grief.

February 21

• Free Community Lunch – Westville Salvation Army 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

February 22

• Training Sessions – One-on-one for all things tech-related, Pictou library, 3-5 p.m. Call 902-485-5021 or drop in to make an appointmen­t with Jennifer.
