1923-2018

Katherine “Kay” (Skoke) Vienneau died peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 in Glen Haven, New Glasgow.

Born on April 24, 1923, in Dol, (Croatia) Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Veronica Skoke. On Jan. 7, 1929, Kay arrived at Pier 21. She lived most of her life in Stellarton, where together with her sisters, Kay owned and operated Skoke’s

Hair Stylists. She was a talented and highly-respected hairdresser, retiring after 47 years of service.

Kay moved to Trenton in 2015, to live with her grandson’s family. For three years she enjoyed the loving care of Gregory and Kathy Vienneau and their children, Taylor and Reanne.

Kay was a devout Catholic, who loved her faith, attending daily Mass until failed health. Kindness came naturally to Kay and her generosity knew no bounds, as did her friendly smiles and easy laugh. She occasionally would say something witty or wise; but it was how she lived her life that spoke volumes. She truly leaves a legacy of faith and love.

The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton.
