• Museum Display – Hope and Survival: The Halifax Explosion Memorial Quilt, created by award-winning Nova Scotia textile artist, Laurie Swim to mark the Centenary of the 1917 Halifax Explosion. honours the lives lost and dramatical­ly changed, and heroic efforts made to assist. Museum of Industry, Stellarton.

February 28

• Music Circle Jam – 6:30-9:30 p.m. at West Branch Community Hall. Admission for players is free, listeners free will, $2.50 suggested. Light refreshmen­ts. Proceeds to hall.

Until April 13

• Art in the Hall 2 – Museum of Industry, Stellarton, rotating installati­ons of art by Pictou County artists. Curated by the Art At Large Collective, it features seven new and emerging artists – carvings to weavings, charcoal drawings to photograph­y based multimedia. Free admission to view show.

March 1

• Monthly Meeting – of the Aberdeen Hospital alumnae will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the North End Rec Centre.

March 5

• Community Conversati­on – Sexual violence in Pictou County, Aberdeen Sobeys Community Room, 610 East River Rd., 5-8 p.m. Resources available for survivors, what is being done and could be done better, etc. All welcome. Dinner provided.

• Internatio­nal Women’s Day – The Pictou County Women’s Resource and Sexual Assault Centre will be hosting a breakfast, keynote, and Q&A with Hon. Senator Wanda Thomas Bernard, PhD, C.M, O.N.S., 7:30-10:30 a.m., tickets $15. Space is limited. Tickets can be picked up at The Centre, 503 S Frederick St., New Glasgow.
