WEEKLY EVENTS Fridays

• Chase the Ace – Stellar Curling Club & RCAFA Wing 110 hall (Foord St, Stellarton), 6-8 p.m. Ticket drawn at approx. 8:20.

• Chase the Ace – River John Legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets sold 6:30-8:30 p.m. with draw at 9 p.m. Tickets three for $5, seven for $10 and 15 for $20. Must be present to win. Music by The Geezer.

• Chase the Ace – With entertainm­ent at Pictou Legion, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

• Cribbage – Westville legion, 7:30 p.m. Admission $5. Meat Darts, 8 p.m., cost $4. All welcome.

• Card Party – St Bee’s Church Hall, Westville. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cards start at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes, plus lunch is served.

• Knitting Circle – The Stellar Knitters, 1 p.m. at Stellarton library, novice and experience­d. Yarn and needles can be supplied or bring your own project.

• Toddle Time – 10:15-11:15 a.m., Westville Library, ages 18 months-3 years. Stories, songs, games, crafts. To register, 902-396-5022.

• Gamers Afterschoo­l – 3-5 p.m., Westville library. Drop in for a gaming session for children ages 8-14.

• Self esteem – Pictou County Women’s Resource and Sexual Assault Centre is offering a self esteem course for women. Call the Centre, 755-4647 to indicate whether day or evening would be preferable and which topics would be of interest to you.

March 1

• Scouting Meeting – from 6:30

to 8:30 p.m. at A.G. Baillie School, 477 Victoria Ave. New Glasgow, for anyone interested in helping with scouting in the county. Looking for people to help with the area council, properties and specia events like cub cars, camporee, fishing derby, etc. Also youth 16 and older can become a youth leader.

• Community Conversati­on – Sexual violence in Pictou County, Aberdeen Sobeys Community Room, 610 East River Rd., 5-8 p.m. Resources available for survivors, what is being done and could be done better, etc. All welcome. Dinner provided.

• Celebrate Literacy – Piccola will present Mister J, the magician performing in the Community Room of the New Glasgow Library from 3:30 -4:30 p.m.

• Art in the Hall 2 – Museum of Industry, Stellarton, rotating installati­ons of art by Pictou County artists. Curated by the Art At Large Collective, it features seven new and emerging artists – carvings to weavings, charcoal drawings to photograph­y based multimedia. Free admission to view show.

March 11
