• VON-Adult Day Program – Therapeuti­c activities and caregiver relief with focus on wellness, socializat­ion, recreation and rehabilita­tion. For adults at risk of going into LTC.

• Bluenose Rug Hooking – from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Superstore community room, New Glasgow. New members welcome.

• Celebrate Literacy – PiCCoLA will present Mister J, the magician performing in the Community Room of the New Glasgow Library from 3:30 -4:30 p.m.

• Music Circle Jam – West Branch Community Hall 6:30-9:30 p.m. Admission for players is free, listeners free will, $2.50 suggested. Light refreshmen­ts. Proceeds to Community Hall. Come on down and give it a try.

• Auction 45’s – Trenton Legion 7 p.m.

March 8

• Internatio­nal Women’s Day

– The Pictou County Women’s Resource and Sexual Assault Centre will be hosting a breakfast, keynote, and Q&A with Hon. Senator Wanda Thomas Bernard, PhD, C.M, O.N.S., 7:30-10:30 a.m., tickets $15. Space is limited. Tickets can be picked up at The Centre, 503 S Frederick St., New Glasgow.

• Your Passport – Learn about applying for your passport, New Glasgow library 2:30-3:30 p.m. with specialist from Service Canada.

• Aberdeen Palliative Care Society – Annual General Meeting 1:30 p.m., 1st floor Boardroom in the Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow. If you are interested in how the APCS supports palliative care in our community, please join us. Everyone is welcome. Music therapist Tom Curry

• Pre-Teen Dance – For kids in grades primary to 8, 7-9 p.m. at the Pictou Youth Centre, 70 Front St., Pictou. Admission $3/child, popcorn and water $1 each. Proceeds to fund an educationa­l trip to Italy and Greece in April 2019 for Biancia Bourgeois, Kari Waller and Meaghan Gormley.
