WEEKLY EVENTS Sundays

• Pictou County Fly Tyers Club – Meets 6:30-9 p.m. at the Stellarton Seniors Club building at the corner of Park Street and Acadia Avenue. All necessary instructio­ns, equipment and materials will be provided. Novice and experience­d tyers are welcomed.

• Karaoke – Westville Legion, 7 p.m.

• Meat Roll – Pictou Legion, 2 p.m. All welcome.

• Meditation – East River Meditation Centre, New Glasgow, 7 p.m. All welcome, please call ahead, 755-4325.

• Hootenanny – Stellarton legion, 6-10 p.m. $7 per person.

• Cafe and Market – Merigomish Schoolhous­e Community Centre, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. featuring a brunch and local market items for sale.

• Tea – Star of the Sea Centre after the 11:15 a.m. Stella Maris Mass. Everyone welcome.

• Dance – Stellarton legion 6-10 p.m. Cost $7 per person.

Mondays

• Card Party – Auction 45s at 7 p.m. at the Meadowvill­e - Poplar Hill Community Hall. Everyone welcome.

• Drop-in Badminton – For adults at New Glasgow Academy 7:30 p.m.9:30 p.m. New members welcome.

• TOPS Group – Take Pounds Off Sensibly, non-profit organizati­on, Superstore community room, 9:3011:30 a.m.

• Mixed Darts – New Glasgow 55+ Club, 1:30 p.m., New Glasgow Fire Hall.

• Over 50 Prize Bingo – Royal Canadian Legion, New Glasgow, 1:30 p.m. Lunch served.

• Cape Breton Style Square Dance – Plymouth Community Centre. Come to listen or come to dance, Everyone welcome! Music by Heather Cameron, Lorna Kennedy, and Fhinn Timmons. Beginners lesson at 6:30 p.m. led by Irene Endicott, dance begins at 7. $5 or by donation.

• Old Time Dance – 7:30 p.m. at West Branch Community Hall. Music by The MacKinnons plus Marilyn, Alvin and Tracy; Roger Simm, calling. Lunch served, shared sweets. Admission $7.

• Yard/Craft Sale – Fundraiser, ADE Tri Lodge, 427 Little Harbour Rd., 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Bill and Margie MacDonald, Norman and Jean McComb. Proceeds to the Shriners Children’s Hospital travel funds.

• Food Drive – Supporting Pictou County food bank, Sobeys, Aberdeen Mall, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Watch for the food bank truck and pass on your grocery donations to members of the Pictou County Service Club.

• Auction 45’s – Trenton Legion 1 p.m.

• Ecumenical Worship Service – Pictou United Church 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday-Passion Sunday worship.

• Evening of Gospel Singing – Sponsored by Lighthouse Mennonite Church at Northend Recreation Centre, New Glasgow, 7 p.m. All welcome.

• Chase the Ace – For Westville Rink and Westville Legion 1-3 p.m. at Westville Legion. Current Jackpot $15,793.50.

• Chase the Ace – Trenton Legion spons. by Trenton Fire Dept and Br. #29. March 27

• Free tax clinic – for simple, low income returns from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.at Westville Library/gym.

• Documentar­y – Water Warriors, a 22-minute film about a community’s fight to protect their water and way of life, specifical­ly from fracking. A free event at 7 p.m. at the Stone Soup Café (41 Water St., Pictou); the screening will be followed by discussion.

• New Glasgow and Area Highland Garden Club – Meeting 7 p.m., at Glen Haven Manor – please use rear entrance. Margie Beck will do a power point presentati­on on garden tune-ups. Light lunch. New members welcome.
