WEEKLY EVENTS Fridays

• New Glasgow 50-Plus Club – Bingo 1:30 p.m. second Friday of each month.

• Chase the Ace – Stellar Curling Club & RCAFA Wing 110 hall (Foord St, Stellarton), 6-8 p.m. Ticket drawn at approx. 8:20.

• Chase the Ace – River John Legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets sold 6:30-8:30 p.m. with draw at 9 p.m. Tickets three for $5, seven for $10 and 15 for $20. Must be present to win. Music by The Geezer.

• Chase the Ace – With entertainm­ent at Pictou Legion, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

• Cribbage – Westville legion, 7:30 p.m. Admission $5. Meat Darts, 8 p.m., cost $4. All welcome.

• Card Party – St Bee’s Church Hall, Westville. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cards start at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes, plus lunch is served.

• Knitting Circle – The Stellar Knitters, 1 p.m. at Stellarton library, novice and experience­d. Yarn and needles can be supplied or bring your own project.

• Toddle Time – 10:15-11:15 a.m., Westville Library, ages 18 months-3 years. Stories, songs, games, crafts. To register, 902-396-5022.

• Toddle Time – 10:45-11:45 a.m., Stellarton Library, 18 months- 3 years. Stories, songs, fun and games.

• Gamers Afterschoo­l – 3-5 p.m., Westville library. Drop in for a gaming session for children ages 8-14.

• Family Fun Night – 7:30-10 p.m. at Father’s House Church, J’s Place Entrance, 400 Stewart St., New Glasgow. Snacks and games offered. For more info call Jim Swain at (902) 695-5509.

• Free tax clinic – for simple, low income returns from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. at New Glasgow library. By appointmen­t only. Call (902) 755-6031.

• Maudie – Movie starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke presented at River John library, 6 p.m. All welcome.

• Pictou County Prostate Cancer Support Associatio­n – Meeting 7 p.m. in the United Commercial Travelers Building behind the Summer Street Industries on Park St., New Glasgow. Open to the public, wheelchair accessible. A social time will follow.

• Trenton Legion – Monthly meeting 7 p.m.

• Stellarton Legion – Monthly meeting 7:30 p.m.

April 21

• Earth Day Weekend – Musical Variety show, First United Church, Trenton, 7 p.m., featuring prominent Pictou County performers. Light lunch social and fellowship to follow. Free will offering with proceeds to church general memorial fund.

• Spring Tea and Sale – IOOF Hall Sunnybrae 1:30-3:30 p.m. Admission $4. Sponsored by MacDonald Rebekah Lodge #108. Crafts, baking, new to you, surprise bags and more!

• Spring Tea – Sharon St. John United Church, 33 Acadia Ave., Stellarton, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sandwiches

and sweets, spring basket raffle. Admission $7.

• Maple Syrup Festival – West Branch Community Hall 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Pancakes. beans, sausage and sweets, $9 adults, under 12 $5. Under 5 free. Hall fundraiser.

• Auction 45’s – Trenton Legion 1 p.m.

April 22

• Prize Bingo – West River Fire Hall 1-3 p.m. $10 for a 6 up card or $5 for a 3 up card. Please bring your own bingo chips. Lunch provided.

• Spring Tea and Fashion Show

– 2 p.m., St. John the Baptist Church Hall, 390 High St., New Glasgow. Spring fashions from Nygard with clothing for all shapes and sizes, fashion adviser available. Admission $5 at the door, all are welcome.

• Karaoke – Trenton Legion with KGB Ent. 3-9 p.m.

• Crown the Queen – Fundraiser for Summer Street Industries, New Glasgow Kinsmen and New Glasgow Kinettes. Advance tickets: Summer Street Industries, Fas Gas, Tip Top Tailors, Cross Roads Country Market and East End Grocery, also Sundays at Summer Street Industries 1:303:30 p.m. Draw is 4 pm.

• Evening of Gospel Singing – Northend Recreation Centre, New Glasgow, 7 p.m., sponsored by Lighthouse Mennonite Church. All are welcome.
