WEEKLY EVENTS Sundays

• Auction 45s – New Glasgow 50-Plus Club 7:30 p.m. Open to public.

• Pictou County Fly Tyers Club – Meets 6:30-9 p.m. at the Stellarton Seniors Club building at the corner of Park Street and Acadia Avenue. All necessary instructio­ns, equipment and materials will be provided. Novice and experience­d tyers are welcomed.

• Karaoke – Westville Legion, 7 p.m.

• Meat Roll – Pictou Legion, 2 p.m. All welcome.

• Meditation – East River Meditation Centre, New Glasgow, 7 p.m. All welcome, please call ahead, 7554325.

• Hootenanny – Stellarton legion, 6-10 p.m. $7 per person.

• Cafe and Market – Merigomish Schoolhous­e Community Centre, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. featuring a brunch and local market items for sale.

• Tea – Star of the Sea Centre after the 11:15 a.m. Stella Maris Mass. Everyone welcome.

• Dance – Stellarton legion 6-10 p.m. Cost $7 per person.

DAILY EVENTS April 21

• Earth Day Weekend – Musical Variety show, First United Church, Trenton, 7 p.m., featuring prominent Pictou County performers. Light lunch social and fellowship to follow. Free will offering with proceeds to church general memorial fund.

• Spring Tea and Sale – IOOF Hall Sunnybrae 1:30-3:30 p.m. Admission $4. Sponsored by MacDonald Rebekah Lodge #108. Crafts, baking, new to you, surprise bags and more!

• Spring Tea – Sharon St. John United Church, 33 Acadia Ave., Stellarton, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sandwiches and sweets, spring basket raffle. Admission $7.

• Maple Syrup Festival – West Branch Community Hall 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Pancakes. beans, sausage and sweets, $9 adults, under 12 $5. Under 5 free. Hall fundraiser.

• Auction 45s – Trenton Legion 1 p.m.

• Yard & Craft Sale – ADE Tri Lodge, 427 Little Harbour Rd., New Glasgow, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. All proceeds going to the Pictou County Shriners. All welcome.

April 22

• Prize Bingo – West River Fire Hall 1-3 p.m. $10 for a 6 up card or $5 for a 3 up card. Please bring your own bingo chips. Lunch provided.

• Spring Tea and Fashion Show – 2 p.m., St. John the Baptist Church Hall, 390 High St., New Glasgow. Spring fashions from Nygard with clothing for all shapes and sizes, fashion adviser available. Admission $5 at the door, all are welcome.

• Karaoke – Trenton Legion with KGB Ent. 3-9 p.m.

• Crown the Queen – Fundraiser for Summer Street Industries, New Glasgow Kinsmen and New Glasgow Kinettes. Advance tickets: Summer Street Industries, Fas Gas, Tip Top Tailors, Cross Roads Country Market and East End Grocery, also Sundays at Summer Street Industries 1:303:30 p.m. Draw is 4 pm.

• Evening of Gospel Singing – Northend Recreation Centre, New Glasgow, 7 p.m., sponsored by Lighthouse Mennonite Church.

April 24

• Women Together – Women’s Resource Centre, 503 South Frederick St., New Glasgow, 10-11:30 a.m. Self-Care! Transporta­tion, childcare subsidies available upon request.

• Embracing the Future – Event May 1, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., but please call to register by April 24: 902-485-8081. Brenda MacKinnon of Community Links & Aging Well Coalition and Mary MacLellan of Seniors’ Outreach present a Lunch and Learn at Pictou United Church, 47 James St., focusing on aging in place through community engagement and enhancemen­t of personal security.

• New Glasgow and Area Highland Garden Club – Meeting 7 p.m. at Glen Haven Manor, please use rear entrance. Pam Ross, a sought after speaker, will do a presentati­on on growing herbs. Light lunch. Visitors welcome.

April 25

• Soup and Dessert Luncheon – St. George’s Church, Forbes Street entrance, sponsored by ACW, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Soup, rolls, dessert, tea, coffee. Takeouts available, $7. Raffle tickets.

• Pictou Garden Club – Meeting at 7.p.m. at the Oddfellows Community Room in Pictou.
