THORBURN – Annabelle “Belle” MacDonald, 91, Thorburn, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 14, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in MacLellan’s Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Kathryn (Myers) MacDonald. Belle was a faithful member of Union Presbyteri­an Church, Thorburn, where she served as treasurer of the Presbyteri­an Ladies Church Guild. She retired from Michelin Tire, Granton, after over 17 years of service. She took great pride in her flower garden, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and from the moment you entered her home she wanted to feed you and take care of you.

Surviving are her daughters, Betty (Simon) Fraser, Thorburn; Beverley (John T.) MacLeod, Thorburn; son, David, Halifax; grandchild­ren: Janifer (Scott) Darroch; Lynn (Darryl) MacDonald; Troy (Patricia) MacLeod; Fallon (Andrew); Natasha (Daniel); Tiffani; Felicia (Mike); Savannah and Zack; great-grandchild­ren: Matt (Erica); Raleigh; Kaitlyn; Annabelle; Taya; Paisley; Oliver; Gabriella; Grace; Hannah; Emmett; and faithful furry companion, Miss Molly; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Raymond; son, Michael; grandson; Shane; grandson-in-law, Bert Wood; brothers, Basil, Wilfred, Alex, Johnny, and Duncan.

A private graveside memorial service in Thorburn Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made in Annabelle’s memory to the Union Presbyteri­an Church, Thorburn, Canadian Cancer Society or the Spina Bifida and Hydrocepha­lus Associatio­n of Nova Scotia. Arrangemen­ts are entrusted to P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
