• New Glasgow 50-Plus Club – Bingo 1:30 p.m. second Friday of each month.

• Chase the Ace – Stellar Curling Club & RCAFA Wing 110 hall (Foord St, Stellarton), 6-8 p.m. Ticket drawn at approx. 8:20.

• Chase the Ace – River John Legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets sold 6:30-8:30 p.m. with draw at 9 p.m. Tickets three for $5, seven for $10 and 15 for $20. Must be present to win. Music by The Geezer.

a group of Royal Canadian Air Cadets at an elite flight-training camp.

• MayDay – Forum 7 p.m. at Trinity United Church, New Glasgow, to inform the public about mental health and addication support available in Pictou County.

• Soup and Dessert – St Bee’s Anglican Helping Hands, Westville, 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost $8.

• Bridgevill­e Cemetery Associatio­n – Annual meeting 7:30 p.m. in the Community Hall.

• Sunny Brae Cemetery – Annual meeting at Calvin Presbyteri­an Church 7 p.m. Everyone welcome.

• Grief Share meetings – Christ Anglican Church, 50 Bridge Ave., Stellarton, 6:30 p.m. There are various losses in life, a loss of a job, a loved one, a pet, or having an empty nest. There are many types of grief and let this be a time of healing, sharing, and listening. Everyone welcome, free of charge.

June 1

June 2

• Yard and Dessert Sale – at Blue Mountain Fire Hall, 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. sponsored by the Knox Church in Blue Mountain.

• Auction 45’s – at Trenton Legion at 1 p.m.

• Annual Fishing Derby – Hosted by Blue Mountain & District Volunteer Fire Department at Garden of Eden Lake, registrati­on located on Siding Road in Eden Lake. Nova Scotia Sport Fishing Weekend sanctioned event – fishing licence not necessary but standard regulation­s apply. Annual fundraisin­g event, all participan­ts welcome. Great prizes, food, and of course fishing!

• Mom to Mom Sale – New Glasgow Academy (93 Albert St.) 1-3 p.m. Seller tables $18 each or 2/$35. Admission $2 per person. Fundraiser for Pictou County Babies to Boosters. • Bargain Hunter’s Breakfast – 7:30-10:30 a.m. at First Presbyteri­an Church, Hopewell to fuel up for the 50 mile yard sale. Pancakes, baked beans and sausage. Tea, coffee and juice included. Takeout is available. $6 per person. Kids under 5 free.

• Fish Derby – Sheet Harbour & Area Ground Search and Rescue, Highway 375 above the Marshall Flowage, 7 a.m. registrati­on, fishing 8-3. Kiddie fish pool, canteen, prizes.

• 40-Mile Yard Sale – Coalburn to Thorburn and McPhersons Mills, Rte. 347, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Several homes participat­ing. Yard Sale at Churchvill­e Hall 8 a.m.-12.

• Ham & Salad Takeout – Durham Church Hall, sponsored by Ladies Guild. Ham, potato salad, tomato, cukes, pie. Tickets $10 can be purchased from any guild member; phone in orders to 485-4411 by June

• Merigomish Schoolhous­e Market & Café Opening – Breakfast served 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost $10 adults, $5 for children. Proceeds go to support the Merigomish Cemetery Company. Regular features at the schoolhous­e are Ardness Gardeners, Merigomish Market Garden and Piedmont Valley Farm.

June 4

• Guitar Gospel Concert – at First Presbyteri­an, Stellarton at 7 p.m. Free-will offering. Proceeds split – Window Replacemen­t Fund and WARM Hearts. Refreshmen­ts to follow.
