TRENTON – Lillian Frances Gosman, age 96, of the Valley View Villa, formerly of Grandview Ave., Trenton, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, in the Villa.

Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late William and Eliza (Phillips) Platt. She worked in the Shell Inspection Shop during WWII. In 1945, she moved to Trenton, and became a member of the First United Church. From 1990 to 2016 she served as Treasurer of the General Memorial Fund and attended the weekly Time Out Group every Monday morning. In 2007, she was honored as Volunteer of the Year. She was the adopted grandmothe­r to the Messenger Group whom she loved dearly as did the wee messengers to whom she became an adored grandmothe­r. When she heard of someone in need, she was one of the first to offer assistance as well as a sample of her home baking. She is survived by a niece, Carol Lambert (Chuck Facey); cousin, Vena Hancock; numerous grand-nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her husband, Harvey; brothers: William and Henry; sisters: Sarah and Mary.

Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, High St., Trenton. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in First United Church, with Mr. Fergie MacKay officiatin­g.
